Filipino Cuisine (Lechon Kawali) @ Jurong East; Singapore

I found another Filipino food stall, this time in the west side of Singapore (Jurong East)! Simply named: "Filipino Cuisine".

On the menu it says "Fiesta Jurong" (Spanish; Fiesta: Celebration or Party), I'm not so sure if it's a tag line or the actual name of the food stall.

They have almost all of the famous dishes that the Philippines is known for. This visit I decided to order Lechon Kawali (Filipino; Lechon: Roasted Pork, Kawali: Pan), which is crispy pork belly. It is tenderised by boiling with spices and other seasonings and then deep fried until it reaches its signature crisp texture.

Lechon Kawali with Rice; SGD 6.00

The Lechon Kawali is also served with some home-made gravy. If you run out, you can always ask for a refill at the counter. I had to go back a second time while eating. The home-made gravy is so good and goes well with the Lechon Kawali; boosts up the flavour and adds an extra kick.

The Lechon Kawali was really good! It's just like how it is back home. I wouldn't expect anything less, since the owner and the cook is Filipino and proud of the food he cooks. You can also get some complimentary soup, (Sinigang) when you order something from Filipino Cuisine. It's in the black soup containers by the utensils.

*Total For My Meal: SGD 6.00

Filipino Cuisine @ Jurong East is located at:

*it's right below the MRT Station, you can't miss it!
