Duck Farm Statue @ Maplewood Park Lorong Ah Soo; Singapore

The area of Lorong Ah Soo (previously Jalan Hock Chye) used to be an area of duck and pig farms as well as coconut plantations. So it's not surprising that there would be a statue paying homage to the days that it was so.

The sculpture depicts the livelihood of a duck farmer, with a couple of ducks, his young daughter (or so I think) and his lazy dog.

The artist put a lot of time, thought and effort in making the statue. The details on the statue are on point, all the muscles, folds of the skin, hair, feathers and fur are realistic and life like.

The statue does evoke warm memories of a time when this scene would have been more common and when kampongs ruled the land.

The Duck Farm Statue is located at:

Maplewood Park; in between Blocks 138 and 126 Lorong Ah Soo
