Snowskin Lavender & White Chocolate Pearls with Earl Grey Truffle Mooncake @ Starbucks

So now that it is Mid Autumn Festival (also known as Mooncake or Moon Festival sometimes), Starbucks here in Singapore made their annual mooncakes available for purchase.

Their mooncakes are small though, bite-size almost. But I decided to give one of them a try. So looking at the mooncakes that they had available, I decided to try their Snowskin Mooncakes, particularly their Lavender & White Chocolate Pearls with Earl Grey Truffle Mooncake (since a good friend of mine was raving about it one time and told me to give it a try too).

The Lavender & White Chocolate Pearls with Earl Grey Truffle Mooncake is a light purple-lavender coloured mooncake with the Starbucks Siren Logo stamped on it.

It looked pretty cute I have to say.

Once you slice it open you'll notice that Starbucks stayed true to the look of a traditional mooncake. The Earl Grey Truffle mimicing the boiled egg yolk that is traditionally in the center of mooncakes, while the lavender flowers and the white chocolate pearls surround the truffle.

The mooncake overall is a delightful and tasty treat. It's not overly sweet, but the flavours still dance on your tastebuds. You can taste the lavender flavour with every bite and the white chocolate pearls add a nice crunchy surprise. The Earl Grey truffle blends well with the light floral lavender flavour and gives a more mature taste to the mooncake.

As I mentioned the mooncakes at Starbucks are bit size small and it is pricey (the Lavender Mooncake costed me SGD 5.50). But given the taste, I do have to say that it was worth it. I just wouldn't splurge on it every chance I get. But yes the Snowskin Lavender & White Chocolate Pearls with Earl Grey Truffle Mooncake was a delightful treat.

*Total For The Snowskin Lavender Mooncake: SGD 5.50
