I've always been a fan of Dr. Seuss and his crazy, kooky and colourful world. So imagine my amazement when I happen to chance on an art installation along Hindoo Road in Little India, which honestly looked like something you would see in Dr. Seuss' universe.?
These Umbrella Trees, were created by the artist, Ms. Marthalia Budiman (who participated in the URA's My Ideas for Public Spaces: Forgotten Spaces Competition in 2015).
Her colourful art installation brings life into a forgotten pocket of grass in Little India, adding not only colour, but functionality as well. Her installation allows people to have pinics or take away food from nearby establishments and eat under the shade of the Umbrella Trees.
Who wouldn't want to sit and enjoy the day under these Umbrella Trees.? Or at least take a photo or a selfie and post it on Instagram.? These would give you some great points on your Instagram for sure!
