Toa Payoh has some interesting sights, and one of them is the Toa Payoh Sesory Park. It is literally a park that stimulates all the senses, which opened in 2009.
A little bit of history about Toa Payoh:
The park is like a mini maze, with some interesting interactive areas that anyone can do (mostly it's for kids, but anyone can enjoy the park). People can also learn about plants and their botanic and scientific names through some of the displays along the park, as well as from the plants and trees that are planted all over the park. The displays also have the names of plants in braille too.
The park also has spaces where you can sit down and just enjoy the colours of the plants around you, the sound of water from the fountains and other water features found in the park, as well as the songs of the birds that call the park home.
As mentioned there are areas that provide interactive learning, one of them, which I can imagine is one of the favourites of kids, is the Parabolic Dish.
Here kids can learn about sound and how soundwaves travel. They can learn something that is scientific, in a fun and hands-on manner. How cool is that.?!
The Toa Payoh Sensory Park is a nice place not only for kids, but for kids at heart. It's a nice and unique place in Toa Payoh, which I would say is homed to many unique and creative spaces.
