Giuseppe Pizzeria & Sicilian Roast @ Tawala Panglao Bohol; Philippines

When you think Bohol, Italian food is probably the last thing that comes to mind. But one of the best Italian restaurants I've tried (in the Philippines) is located at the first floor of a white low rise building in Tawala Panglao, Bohol.

It's called Giuseppe! And it's been hailed as one of the top five restaurants in Panglao, Bohol.

Giuseppe is owned and operated by an Italian chief, Giuseppe Genco, so you can expect authentic and tasty Italian cuisine coming out of the kitchen and onto your table.

The restaurant, even though it is big and has a lot of seats and tables, gets filled up (FAST) during peak seasons (especially for dinner; it's a little bit easier to get a table during lunch), so it's a good idea to call in advance for a table reservation just in case.

Giuseppe's Wood-Fired Brick Oven; where pizzas come to life!

What makes Giuseppe pizza so tasty is the fact that they use their own wood-fired brick oven. It helps give their pizzas that signature smokey Italian flavour and texture. And I learnt from the waitress that another great thing about wood-fired brick ovens is that it requires almost zero maintenance (aside from the occasional cleaning out of the ashes) and can last for more than 100 years and more!!!!

After looking through the menu, my family and I decided on ordering:

I really love the food at Giuseppe! It's one of our regular restaurants that we often go to when we are in Panglao, Bohol for a family get-a-way.

Giuseppe is a must try and a must go to if you are in Panglao, Bohol. It's a gastronomic delight and will make you feel you are in some Italian island as you eat and enjoy their food.
