There is an abstract sculpture in Kallang Riverside Park. It's entitled "Spirit of Kallang", created by Mr. Lim Leong Seng.
The sculpture reclaimed aluminium pipes and gate valves and other materials that, I would think, came from the former Kallang Gasworks.
An explanation on the sculpture and its meaning |
The art piece pays homage to the pioneer generation of Singapore, who helped in making the country great through their hard work, sweat and tears.
The Spirit of Kallang is located at:
Kallang Riverside Park; In between Kampong Bugis and Rocher River (beside the Kallang Rivergreen Building)
*the purple sculpture is the location of the Spirit of Kallang
*Kallang Riverside Park is about a 10 minute walk from Kallang MRT Station and an 8 minute walk from Lavender MRT Station
