Homemade Electrolyte Drink

I may not be a fan of the gym, but I do run, jog, hike and do yoga. And I sweat like no other, when I do such activities. And I have my own homemade and more natural version of Gatorade and Pocarri Sweat. It's simple and easy to make.

Ingredients:
Juice of 1 lemon
1/4 teaspoon of salt (Pink Himalayan Salt or Sea Salt)
1-2 tablespoon/s of honey
1 small piece of ginger
1 cup of peppermint tea

Instructions:
Add the ingredients in a bottle or container
Fill the rest of the bottle or container with water
Stir or shake well so that all the ingredients mix together
Leave it in the fridge to chill
Drink as needed or desired

*adjust the amount ingredients depending on the container being used
*adjust the ingredients to suit the taste desired
*shake the container again before drinking to make sure the ingredients are always at the right levels

*Other Options:
The lemon can be switched with lime or orange (or grapefruit)
Peppermint tea can be switched with sage, green tea or lemongrass

Why these ingredients you ask.? Well the reason behind it is that these ingredients have the same properties (only more natural) that are found in sports drinks such as Gatorade and Pocarri Sweat.

  • Lemons contain Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium, Sodium and Vitamin C
  • Sea Salt contains Sodium, Chloride, Potassium, Phosphorus, Calcium
