Mayon Volcano, which is known for being a "perfect cone" (because of its symmetrical conial shape) is an active volcano in the Albay province in the Bicol region of the Philippines.
A collection of my adventures, experiences and everything in between; mostly sights, stuff, food and anything under the moon.

Maria Cristina (Water) Falls @ Iligan City, Lanao del Norte, Mindanao; Philippines
Maria Cristina Falls is famous for being the second highest waterfall in the Philippines (about 98 metres high and has a 320-metre drop). And on a work trip to Mindanao, I was lucky enough to have time to take a side trip to the falls.

Rizal Shrine @ Barangay Casat, Bayombong, Nueva Vizacaya; Philippines
You probably wouldn't think that there would be a shrine to Jose Rizal in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya; much less think that it was built by a foreigner who looked up to Jose Rizal (and the other heroes in Philippine history). But guess what.?! There is such a shrine in Bayombong!!!!

Sta. Cruz Island Mangrove-Lagoon & Stingless Jellyfish @ Sta. Cruz Island Zamboanga City; Philippines
While on the Sta. Cruz island, we were also given a tour of the mangrove-lagoon. The tour is a partnership between the local management of the island and the native tribe who call the island their home. The mangrove-lagoon tour, once open to the public, aims to help bring awareness to the protection of the local ecology and teach the public the important role that the mangrove system plays.

The Pink Sand Beach (Sta. Cruz Island) @ Zamboanga City; Philippines
So yeah, beaches and the sea aren't my thing, but I am always up to explore the areas I find myself in. So when I got the chance to see the famous Pink Sand Beach on the island of Sta. Cruz in Zamboanga City for work, I got on the boat with my colleagues and our local hosts and headed for the pink sand!

Punggol Beach; Singapore
One boring day, I decided to go out and explore Punggol a little bit more. I ended up at Punggol Beach, for some odd reason.
Good thing it was a cloudy-breezy day there, or else I would have burned.

Alternative Store @ Haji Lane Kampong Glam; Singapore
I've always been a hippie and a free spirit at heart. And I've always loved the ethnic-inspired and artisanal lifestyle. So when I found out about a shop in Haji Lane, I just had to go check it out. And ever since that first visit, I've become a raving fan!
This is the Alternative Store!

The Touristy Toilet @ Shell Gas Station Tagbilaran City Bohol; Philippines
So yeah, I had to go to the toilet (so did my sister) on our way to the Tagbilaran Airport and then my dad suggested we stop at this Shell Gas Station. He did mention to me and my sister that we would be surprised when we enter the toilet. We were both puzzled as to why he would say that, but yeah, when you have to go you have to go!

Baby Dragon Playground @ Toa Payoh; Singapore
Toa Payoh seems to be an area with a lot of Dragon themed spots. This dragon is another one of the old mosaic playgrounds built in the 70s and 80s by Mr. Khor Ean Ghee. It's not as big as the other one at Blk 28 Lorong 6 Toa Payoh.

Kampong Lorong Buangkok (The Last Kampong); Singapore
Kampong Lorong Buangkok is the last kampong (Malay: "Village") in the main island of Singapore. It was built in 1956. Kampong Lorong Buangkok is also known as "Kampong Selak Kain" (Malay: "Village of the Sarong Lifters") because during floods the people of the village would lift their sarongs to be able to walk with ease through the flood waters. Kampong Lorong Buangkok retains the "Kampong Spirit" through not only the rustic wooden houses with aluminium roofs, but also through its traditional roots reflected by its residents.

Mystical Banyan Treehouse @ Kallang Riverside Park; Singapore
Kallang Riverside Park is home to many banyan trees. They will greet you as you enter the park. Banyan trees have always been my favourite tree. Growing up in the Philippines, where banyan trees are locally called Balete, Balite or Baliti, I have heard of many stories of the spirits who like to call the banyan tree home and how sometimes it is a gateway between our world and the spirit world, hence Filipino's would sometimes call it the "Spirit Tree". But those stories never seemed to frighten me, in fact they would even intrigue me more.

Baby Dragon Playground @ Pipit Road MacPherson; Singapore
I went to see a friend who was visiting Singapore and staying in Circuit Road near the MacPherson MRT Station. After I decided to walk back to the station (since going to where my friend was staying only took me around 4 minutes and 3 bus stops), that's when I saw another Dragon (playground)!

Dinosaur Playground @ Toa Payoh; Singapore
Growing up, I loved dinosaurs (I still do, but in a much smaller dose). I loved the Jurassic Park film series and had dinosaur books and toys.
When I decided to walk back from the temple to the MRT Station in Toa Payoh, I got a bit lost after seeing the Dragon Playground and made a wrong turn and ended up finding another way to my destination.
